Diet Plan

I've had many requests to share this information, so here it is! In two weeks, with a bit of cheating, I was down 13 lbs.

Basic Fat Burning Soup

2 cans tomatoes, check for no sugar added (or 12 fresh)
2 bunches green onions
1 bunch of celery
2 cans green beans (or equivalent fresh)
1 green peppers
2 lbs peeled carrots
1 can beef broth
1 package Lipton soup mix (your choice of flavour)

Cut veggies into small-medium pieces. Combine all the above ingredients, add enough water to cover. Season with salt, pepper, curry, parsley, bouillon, or hot sauce. Bring to a boil for 5 min, reduce to simmer and cook til veggies tender.

This soup can be eaten anytime you are hungry, as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories; the more you eat the more you will lose.

You can eat broiled or baked chicken instead of the beef on ONE of the two days; the other day you will need the high protein in the beef.

Any prescribed medication will not hurt you on this diet. Continue the diet plan as long as you feel the difference, both physically and mentally. DO NOT CONTINUE INDEFINITELY.

DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ON THIS DIET: BREAD, ALCOHOL, CARBOHYDRATED DRINKS, NO FRIED FOOD OR FAT

DO drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses daily), as well as unsweetened juices, black tea / coffee, pure cranberry juice. *no sugars added*, or skimmed milk.

This diet comes from the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital, used for overweight heart patients to lose weight rapidly prior to surgery. Each day, eat plenty of the soup and only the selections for that day – til you are FULL.

Day 1 - Any fruit, fresh or canned in natural juice, except bananas. Cantaloupes and watermelons are lower in calories than most other fruits.

Day 2 - All vegetables – fresh, cooked, raw, or canned, as many as you can manage to eat. Leaf veggies are best, stay away from dry beans, peas, or corn. At dinnertime reward yourself with a big baked potato with a little butter. NO FRUIT TODAY
Day 3 - Soup, fruit, and veggies – all you want. No baked potato tonight. *if you have eaten the above for 3 days and have not cheated, you should be down 5-7 lbs*

Day 4 - BANANAS (at least 3) AND SKIM MILK – as much as you can eat today, along with soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbs, as is the milk, but this particular day your body will need the potassium, carbs, proteins, and calcium to lessen craving for sweets.

Day 5 - BEEF AND TOMATOES – 10-20 oz of beef (or chicken) with no fat, and 1 can / 6 fresh tomatoes. Soup at least once.

Day 6 - BEEF AND VEGGIES – as MUCH beef and veg as you want today; NO POTATO. Soup at least once.

Day 7 - BROWN RICE, unsweetened fruit juices, and veggies; stuff yourself, eat soup at least once.

By the end of the 7th day, if you have not cheated, you should have lost 10-17 lbs. If you have lost more than 15, stay off diet for 2 days before resuming.

Use 7-day plan as often as you like. If correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you the feeling of well being as never before. After only 7 days on this process you will be lighter, and have an abundance of energy. Continue on this plan as long as you feel the difference.

This diet does not lend itself to drinking alcohol at any time because of the fat buildup in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.

Because everyone’s digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently. After Day 3, you will have more energy than when you began, IF YOU DO NOT CHEAT. After being on the diet for several days, you may find that your bowel movements have changed. If required, eat a cup of bran or fiber. Although you can have black coffee on this diet, you may find you don’t need the caffeine after the 3rd day. Many people report improved bowel activity on this diet.

Diet - Day 14

Well, neither Bob nor I have been sticking stringently to this diet, but I'm down 13 pounds! I have dipped below 250, and tomorrow will be the start of the 3rd week for us. I'm sure I'd easily be down 20 lbs by now had we stuck totally to the requirements. Oh, well, 13 is still that much less than when we started!

I find if I drink the proper amount of water it melts off me; I have to concentrate some days on doing that.

One Week Done!

Here we are at the end of our first week of the diet. We cheated quite a bit the past couple of days, as we were in Calgary with family from Thursday night til Saturday night. Those days included the likes of pizza, cake, and Mc Chickens...and still we managed to lose!

Weigh-in was last Monday morning. As of Sunday morning, I have gone from 261 down to 251.5 - for a total of 9.5 pounds! Bob has lost an even 10, going from 268-258. Or did he say 257? I'll have to check; that would be 11 pounds. Another few weeks of this and I'll be fitting back into some clothes I thought were lost to me forever...a little longer than that, and I'll need a whole new wardrobe...DARN it!

Diet - Day 2

Well, day 2 is nearly over. I stepped on the scale first thing this morning as I had yesterday...4 lbs gone! Yay! Today was also an "easy" day. I had no real cravings or anything, and the food I was eating satisfied me. I'm a bit worried about tomorrow - I work for 4 hours tomorrow, so I won't be able to snack like I have been doing. I'll stuff my face on my 15 minute break, I guess. It's unlimited fruit and veggies - I'll bring fruit salad and inhale that.

Diet...Day 1

Today my husband and I started a diet. Both of us have "a few" pounds to shed, and our pastor introduced us to this diet which consists mostly of vegetable soup (not cabbage). We vary other items through a week-long course, with soup being the daily constant, then repeat. It's from the American Heart Foundation, and is for rapid weight loss in patients who need surgery quickly. The soup is delicious, and so far I am doing ok - even in the face of chocolates...! We both figure we're going to do this diet for a while, drop a bunch of pounds quickly, and by then we'll be more accustomed to reaching for a piece of fruit instead of chocolate or chips. We'll be used to a diet with little meat and lots of fruit and veggies. Our systems will have the junk out of them, and we won't crave stuff that's bad for us.

I weighed in today at 261 lbs, and Bob at 267.

So...day one down, and rarin' to go for day 2!

This is more like it!

Well, this is my first post in my new blog...exciting, I know..! Just wanted to give it a test run - nothing really exciting to say - or not even anything really boring...this is pretty much it...!
