Diet...Day 1

Today my husband and I started a diet. Both of us have "a few" pounds to shed, and our pastor introduced us to this diet which consists mostly of vegetable soup (not cabbage). We vary other items through a week-long course, with soup being the daily constant, then repeat. It's from the American Heart Foundation, and is for rapid weight loss in patients who need surgery quickly. The soup is delicious, and so far I am doing ok - even in the face of chocolates...! We both figure we're going to do this diet for a while, drop a bunch of pounds quickly, and by then we'll be more accustomed to reaching for a piece of fruit instead of chocolate or chips. We'll be used to a diet with little meat and lots of fruit and veggies. Our systems will have the junk out of them, and we won't crave stuff that's bad for us.

I weighed in today at 261 lbs, and Bob at 267.

So...day one down, and rarin' to go for day 2!

My wife and I do not diet, per say, but we seem to eat nothing but piles of vegetables (vegetarianism can be fun), we don't lose a bloody thing, but we do possess the ability to walk the length of the city twice with no fatigue at all. I wish I knew anything about human biology and nutrition.
